| | What do you look for in a power solution for the various applications that you encounter? When would you choose a voltage regulator over a simple power conditioner, and which products tend to be best? I recently purchased a bass amp that has a single rackspace, and picked up the Furman PM-PRO II power conditioner to go into it to protect it. This works quite well, although the Furman PF-PRO R looks as though it might be a better choice to use with guitar amps. Has anyone else used either of these two products with good success? Thanks!

| | Hello! I have used furman products for years with great success. The power factor (esp the pf-pro-r) conditioners are amazing, the fact that they store power for amp peak current demands while filtering out noise and conditioning the power coming into your amp and effects is awesome. This unit is a must for any gigging musician...Although any furman product will greatly help your rig by filtering and conditioning the power to protect your gear and remove noise. I dont feel that the sequencing conditioners are necessary for gigging applications, although for home automation installations and home studio applications, the ability to turn on your gear in an automated sequence could prove pretty valuable. Hope I answered the question!!! |

| Thanks! How much of a difference would the Furman PF-Pro R be, over the Furman PM-Pro II? Does the power reserve in the PF-Pro make much of a difference?

| | Well, it depends on usage... i think if you are playing at very loud volumes with pretty high gain, than the power factor units ability to store power and provide it as needed by the amp will be pretty noticable. Also, if you play in bars with chronically bad electricity, then I believe this unit will provide very useful as well. However, if you are playing in places with relatively clean and consistant electricity, not playing at ear bleeding levels or using high gain, than a regular furman line conditioner/surge protector unit shoule be just fine. |

| Thanks! I should be fine with my PM-Pro II. I chose that over the PF-Pro R for the digital voltometer and electrical current usage meter. (It's nice to know how much current I'm drawing so that I don't trip a circuit breaker.)
