In one of the other forums I belong to we were talking about generic backing tracks. Primarily the discussion was around  giving due credit if you use them in a recording.

The topic ended up about drum backing tracks, does the same thing apply as say using a copyrighted melody backing track for a recording?

I figured this was the best place to ask, and told the people I would get an answer for them.
