Hi everyone!! I'm playing an ibanez acuostic/electric(af75). Im a huge george benson fan, but recently found out that he plays 14's. Ive only been playing for 8 months and not satified with the sound im getting. I  tried  the chrome 11's but i think they were to heavy for my virgin fingers. I researched and found a chrome 10, but are there any other options?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

Here's what's available for Chromes:

Going with those extra-lights will likely give you more sustain, and allow you to bend notes easier.  Is that what you'd like to try for?

As an alternative, Chromes are available as singles, and you can build your own custom sets of strings if you wish.

I went ahead and bought the 10's. Wow! perfect for my big hands and they sound great. String talk is completely gone. Maybe Ill try to do something individually with my dean softail. Any recommendations for a jazz tone from a rock guitar? got a great deal on the dean, cuoldnt pass it up!!! $350!!!

Two points:

1.)  Lighter strings generally equals less sustain, as the pickups have an easier time "braking" the lighter vibrating mass.

2.)  Jazz tone from an electric - play with your fingers and roll the tone knob way back, and you'll have that "wet mattress over the amp" tone so beloved by jazzers.

When trying to emulate one's favorite musician, it usually works better when you focus on playing the same notes as him, rather than the same gear.
