The Q-code is from the corrosion intercept bag (plastic bag strings are packed in). This enables D'Addario to log the string problem and track it to the actual batch of production. They can then go back and look at other strings from that batch to see if the string problem affects more than just your set of strings. If it does, then D'Addario can pull the rest of that batch off of the shelves.
