I just purchased a Jay Turser JTB-2B Violin Bass (Hofner Replica) and had seen a recommendation of
ECB81S strings for it. Another person has told me that even though it's a short scale neck, the whole bass itself isn't really short scale due to the tailpiece. I measured from the tailpiece where the string begins to the top tuner and it is 37 1/2". Are the ECB81S's going to be too short? Does anyone know the exact length of these strings?

Thanks!

Well that question got answered just a tad too late for me and the answer is... Short Scale strings do NOT fit this bass.

UNfortunately I took info from another forum and ran with it and there is a small section of string at the nut that is wrapped that extends about 2/3 of an inch over the fingerboard.  Doesn't seem to effect playing (especially since I am just learning and suck anyways!).  The measurement as instructed on the chart I was referred to came up at 33 inches.
