Lately I have really been getting into instrumental rock.  I also am in a jam band that does some I-Rock, as I call it.  Here are some of my favorite artists:

Steve Morse

Neil Zaza

Joe Satriani

Gary Hoey

Bobby Rock

Andy Timmons

Vinnie Moore

Gregg Bissonette (his two solo albums)

Tony Macalpine

How about you?

Yep!  That is one reason why I bought my first Gary Hoey CD.  Bobby Rock is on some of them too.  Peace.

One of my all-time favorite instrumental album is by Apollo 100 and it's called "MasterPieces." It's a mixture of a rock rhythm section with an orchestra. My favorite tracks are from famous classical pieces and they make rock instrumentals out of them. Great stuff.

Yes, Trilok Gurtu, Theres a couple tunes on The John McLaughlin Trio  "que alegria" CD I really like. "Belo Horizonte" and "1 nite stand". That stuff is awesome. I also have some Allan Holdsworth stuff that has either Tony Williams, Chad Wackerman or Gary Husband playin'. I have a couple Chad Wackerman solo CD's too. I also have several Zappa albums, over 35. Shut up 'N play yer Guitar's gotta be one of the best with Vinnie Colaiuta. The song "Gee, I like your pants" kicks azz on the drums! I also have Cozy Powell's Octopuss album. Kazumi Watanabe with Bill Bruford. Bill Bruford's CD's too. Alot of Tony Williams stuff, Adrian Belew. Jeff Beck. King Crimson. Buckethead. Classic Booker T. & the MG's. I love lots of instrumental Rock, jazz fusion, etc.
