Yeah, you're going to need super-longs:

Super Long Scale Strings

I recently purchased a "Cheap" 5 string Brice Bass. For the money it seems to be a great value and I'm quite happy with the instrument. The problem is that my scale from bridge to nut is 36 1/2" and I'm having an almost impossible time finding a decent string selection. I was hoping to put ProSteels on this baby, but they don't seem to have them in Super Long Scale. The stings I have currently are Long Scale, but I can't string through the body, and I had to unwrap the silk on both ends to put them on. The strings themselves barely make it to the nut before they start to taper. I was hoping to find some direction here.
