If you have tried any out/own one, please tell me how reliable it is and how it feels compared to a normal hi-hat stand. I will definitely try some out at the nearest decent drum store to my house, but I can only do that when I get home in a few days. I just want some input before I go searching in a store.

Hell, maybe the cable hat idea isn't what I should be doing, so I'll throw out my problem. I love having three toms up front going (left to right): 14", 10", 13", and then down to 16 floor tom. However, the additional 14" tom natural forces me to move my hihats closer to my body and more to the left which means the hihat pedal is not situated comfortably for me and I feel off balance and then suck at playing.

I figure if I have a cable hat set up, then I can put the pedal in a more comfortable location and even place my hats in a better location. The only worry here is that they'll be my main hats, so its imperative they the pedal motion is precise and not sluggish.

I'm sure some will tell me to get rid of the 14" or move it down under my hats, but I've tried it and I don't like playing without it or with it in another position. So fill me in if you would be as so kind.

nacho
