If i could add to what globe was saying, if you dont have a good set of drill bits, go get one, or have someone else do the work for you. 1/32 of and inch can be the differance of a good fit, and a broken neck. I lost a headstock off an old explorer bass in the 80's because of just that problem.

If, the hole is to large for the new screw, don't settle for a loose fit or glue, just get a hardwood dowel rod, drill a bigger hole, and glue it in place. let it sit over night and drill the new holes.

Obviously, don't do this to a vintage instrument, but it will do the job.

I would put the drill bit inside the strap pin ang get one size smaller than the one drill bit that fit in there tightly... simple and effective. Then again that is assuming you have a basic set of drill bit to pick from.

They didn't come with any instructions? My advice would be to measure the width of the screw shaft, minus the threads. That would give you the perfect sized guide hole, while allowing the threads of the screw to burrow in and take hold.

I have a pack of Planet Waves Guitar Strap End Pins, and there's no indication of the screw size or the drill bit that should be used to drill the hole. Can anyone help identify the correct drill bit to use with this kit?
