Oh my god...I went and saw them tonight and they were jaw dropping. The guitarists fingers looked like they were being pulled by strings. The bassist was just as fast, clean, inventive, and talented as the guitarist, and the drummer...wow. Can't even put into words how amazing and powerful he was. Before they played they warmed up with a little jazz ad lib, which was awsome and unexpected. Man it was amazing, I hope they come back to somewhere around Alabama soon.

Greetings - I play guitar, but lurk over at the drum forum now and then. I don't play drums, couldn't if my life depended on it; but I do work with drummers and it helps to understand more about what they are doing.

I listened to the free clip on the website you linked. The music just, how do I say, ain't my thing! I do, however, admire guitar players who can play both quickly and cleanly. Those are two aspects of my 'guitar game' that I am constantly working on. Being able to play the song cleanly at the proper speed is important regardless of what style of music one plays.

So, if this particular band 'does it' for you, by all means enjoy.

Hey guys,

I am a member over at the drum forum (as I'm a drummer), but I have a new favorite band and their guitarist blows me away. His name is Tosin Abasi and he is so fast, clean, and inventive. His sweep arpeggios (sp) are sick, they are flawless. He plays a seven string but, unlike most guys with seven strings in metal bands, he does not rely soley on the extra low string. He is so inventive and has really inspired me as a musician. Their drummer can rip too, but that's whole other story. check this out and see what you think:
