Thats a tough one!

Best rock player I'd have to give to Geddy Lee or John Entwistle.

Jazz- Stanley Clarke, Jaco, Brandino, Mingus, Marcus Miller, and I could go on and on.

Blues- Donald Duck Dunn, and Tommy Shannon

Overall- James Jamerson and Paul McCartney

This is really hard to judge and no opinion is final. There are too many good bass players out there. These are some of the ones I look up to.

I'd also have to add the dude from The Who. He's the only member of The Who whose name I can't recall at the moment. LOL
