Yeah! My friends recently picked up Rock Band, and it really rocks! I'm glad that there's finally a game where I can use vocals, as I always sucked a bit at Guitar Hero. The drums in Rock Band feel a bit weird for me to play, though.

guitar hero is awesome, but rock band is even more fun. getting friends in on it and playing drums, guitar, bass and having vocals makes for a great experience.

I just played the new Guitar Hero III last night, and it ROCKS!!! They've got the Sex Pistols and Die Toten Hosen on the game! I think it's the best edition of the game so far! :)

I keep hearing 'bout Guitar Hero but have never seen it in action... like Billy says, it ain't gonna make you a guitarist, but it sounds like it does a good job of keeping up the cool image of the guitar :cool: - that can't be a bad thing! :D

It sounds like a cool game, but I'd rather spend my time learning technique and how to play for real!

Do you think this will really teach kids how to play? Nothing works like good old fashioned hard work and practice! ;)

I thought it was Guitar Hero II that had the Trogdor song. It rocks!

Has anyone checked out the '80s songpack update for Guitar Hero II? I can't remember what all is on it. It seems as though the game makers select songs that cost less royalty-wise, rather than selecting the most popular songs. That kind of sucks.

yeah Guitar Hero was okay, but Guitar Hero II is sooo much better, Free Bird is one of my favorites to play, and Carry On My Wayword Son, and a song by The Police (forget the name), and Six by All That Remains is the best song by far, its flippin hard but its soo fun. now i cant flippin wait for Guitar Hero III!!!! its gonna be amazing. the cool thing about Guitar Hero I though is that it has Trodgor the Burninator from homestarruner.com, and it's awesome hahaha.

Yeah. LOL. The only thing the game might help with is rhythm and coordination. The buttons are too easy to press, so it doesn't really build finger strength.

The Guitar Hero games are super FUN, though! :) I end up playing the guitar controller like Jeff Healey, as I'm too used to playing the dulcimer. That makes it harder to activate my "star power" in the game, though. I wish they made a separate controller that looks like a stomp box, so my foot could activate it...

stu ,hey just choken your chain dude ,just thought you were kind of like me ,do not play the game thing to much .mrs got play staion 2 for me for xmass last year ,think i played it few times .but i;m old fart ,,,,lol,,,,those dam games are hard to play let alone figure them out ...lol. my son jams away at all of them ...but hey he has been doing it for many years now ........loves kicking my *** at any of those dam games ,burns me up at times ...lol........ no hard feelings i hope chuck

"I wanna be sedated" is probably one of the few songs that's easier to play on a real guitar than on GH. That said, it's a great game, pity they won't release it for PC anytime soon.

You MUST grab Guitar Hero 2! The team play is so much fun, and they have some sweet-looking bass guitars you can jam with! You can use the guitar controller that came with Guitar Hero 1, and Guitar Hero 2 will give you your second axe controller.

yeah ,was the first one .the son and my wife kicked my butt on the game .:w00t:but we had fun for sure:hehe::cool: ...the son will be over for big sunday dinner today ,sure we will play it again ...smoke on the water was fun .ziggy star dust was easy one ,,,,sharp dressed man ,ect .....very cool to have get together with the family :cool::cool:.......hell even the axe you play it with was cool as hell..son loves the whammy bar :w00t:;).....thanks dulc for your reply .......lp57

Some friends of mine have both the first and second versions of Guitar Hero, and it's fun! The second edition one is best, as you can team up with a buddy and play at the same time. In that mode, I enjoy doing the bass work. :)

If your son has the second edition, Guitar Hero II; be sure to play the song "Trogdor!" It's the best EVER! (I'm a huge HomeStarRunner and Strong Bad fan!)

My first reaction to the games was, "Hey! Where are the Fenders? I want to use a Fender!" Unfortunately, Gibson teamed up with the game designers in order to help promote their products. That's why you won't see a single Fender in any of the games. :(
