| I know this was posted before but this time Ill break it down into categories. 1. Who's the best rock bass player? 2. Who's the best jazz/fusion bass player? 3. Who's the best blues bass player? 4. Last but not least who's the best bass player of all? My answers, 1. Geddy Lee 2. Jaco Pastorius 3. Tommy Shannon or Roscoe Beck {tie} 4. Jaco Pastorius.

| | Thats a tough one! Best rock player I'd have to give to Geddy Lee or John Entwistle. Jazz- Stanley Clarke, Jaco, Brandino, Mingus, Marcus Miller, and I could go on and on. Blues- Donald Duck Dunn, and Tommy Shannon Overall- James Jamerson and Paul McCartney This is really hard to judge and no opinion is final. There are too many good bass players out there. These are some of the ones I look up to.
