Hello,

I was looking for a richer sound from my violin and decided to give Pro-Arte strings a try.  I rarely change strings, and when I put my new e string on and took it to tension it snapped 1/2 way between the bridge and the fine tuners.  Was it something I did?  It seems like it broke in an odd place.  I put the old string back on without issue.  I'm not sure what to do now; can I return the strings for replacement, or would it be considered my fault and therefore no replacement would be made?  I haven't replaced the other three strings yet.

Thanks!

Shelley,

It's hard to say without evaluating the strings, but I must say that is a rather strange place for strings to break.  Please feel free to send this string back to us for evaluation and replacement.  Follow the instructions found here: http://www.daddariobowed.com/BOWFaqDetail.aspx?CodaID=3695

If the string failed in any way we will definitely replace it!

Best regards,

Admin
