How does facing length and tip opening relate to ease of play and sound. My daughter is getting her first sax and doesn't know what to get. She has been playng the school instrument with it's mouthpiece.

Hello,

Good question.  I would recommend a medium facing and medium facing length.  I would recommend a Rico Royal B5 bari mouthpiece.  These mouthpieces are used by professionals all over the world for their ease of use and efficient use of air.  I would use a Rico or Rico Royal 2 1/2 or 3 reed with it and it should be great for your daughter.

Thanks!
