While using vandoren zz's, I came across a problem.  I started with 2 1/2's which were good until i realized that they were not projecting my sound enough, they were too soft. I went up to a 3, which really did the trick volume wise, but its too hard.  So, if I was to switch to select jazz, what strength would be between a size 2 1/2 and 3 vandoren zz?

Hello,

Thanks for the question.  Our Rico Select Jazz come in 1/3rd strengths to allow the player a more consistent playability to match exactly what they like.  You would probably be best served with a 2H (2 Hard) as it will be harder than a 2 1/2 and softer than a 3.

Thanks for the question - Rico
