| "There has been a lot of speculation and solid rumors for a while that Legends will be closing.. It is closing.
At the beginning of Buddy's show last night he made it official. He announced that Legends will be closing in June of this year. The owner of the property, Columbia College, is not renewing his lease.
They are and have been looking for a new location but there is no location at this time.

World famous Joel Segal's Jazz Show Case has closed (last week) too for its 2nd time. They have been looking for a new location for a while and still dont have one.
Both will find new homes and thrive. Hey, the Checkerboard Lounge moved and has been open for business."

| | That's too bad! I love Buddy, and have been to his club a couple times. He's playing at BB's in NYC next month I believe (may be May). He still puts on an amazing show! If you haven't seen him, check him out! (Bill - I'm sure you've seen him!). His dynamics are amazing. The crowd gets so into it, and at times he'll bring it down so low that he'll sing away from the mike and play so quiet with so much feeling. Not bad for a guy who'll be 71 in July! |

| | Matt, Yeah I've seen him more than a few times. I shared the stage with him once last January at Legends. I have all 3 of my Buddy Guy polka dot Strats autographed by him as well. The man is the definition of dynamics, you can hear a pin drop he brings the volume down so low. Everyone thought Hendrix was original....... hell he stole every one of Buddy's moves and licks it's a well kown fact, Jimi was recording Buddy one night with a little handheld recorder, so he could go home a learn the stuff. Buddy asked who the F*** is Jimi Hendrix when he was told he was recorded that night. Eric Clapton gives credit to Buddy for all his influence on him as well...... Even Jimi down on the floor on his knees bending backwards was a Buddy move. Chess records didn't want to hear Buddy playing all that "noise" back in the late 50's, but when Hendrix took off like a rocket Chess records was all over Buddy to play the same music they didn't want to hear before. He is by far the best of the best in my book. As the saying goes often imitated but never duplicated there is only one Buddy Guy.
A view from behind the man on stage
