| my son got this axe from good will store where he works today for 4 bucks .nice looking axe ,, mable neck blonde body .3 pick up;s single coil ..knobs are striped out ,the back plate is missing ,,plus the springs in the back are missing as well .only has 2 of them in it ....the 3 way switch is bent as well.....now have a kreamer i got for 40 bucks few years back had same trouble.had it worked on .think i put 60 bucks into it got it playing ...want to know if this brand is any good ,or has any one played one or have one ....100 buck guestion is ,think it is worth any thing to fix it ?????????? any imput will help

| hey drum man ,,,,,,,yeah went in the link ,says you have to pay 10 bucks to look at the site .......what a rib off ......any how thanks bro for your imput .........hey we jamed tuesday night ....skips buddy ron played drums ,,dude 100 miles an hour trying to play with this guy .........but we did go over few songs that stev needed to work lead runs on........over all sounded pertty dam good........the gig at vfw is few days away ,,,,billy ray is going to play there as well......so only have to do 2 sets .plus tony will be playing as well i think ,not sure .....so can ya jam this week end and if so what day is good for you???????or night .plus need to find out about pa we are going to use.........any hey plowed last night .yesterday .....16 hours ....call me today or i;ll call you ........later lp57

| Try and figure out when it was made. Vintage (i.e. late 70's/early '80s) Hondo copies of Fender/Gibson styles are somewhat collectible.

| | By way of clarification.... Bill is generally right in that, apart from pristine "lawsuit" era specimens, hondo guitars don't retain much value. That said, I believe they do have something of a following, and their guitars from the 70's are regarded as being the tonal peers of mexican fenders. Perhaps the best analogy is to think of them as a "poor man's tokai" Incidentally, didn't stevie ray vaughn play/endorse tokai guitars for a bit?

| Given the negligible cost of the instrument, you might as well try doing a complete overhaul of it yourself. Perhaps get your son involved, teach him how to solder, sand, adjust a truss rod, etc. It's not like there's much risk of destroying a priceless collectible.

| stu ,hey took that axe over for the guys to see it ,,,, we jamed tonight to get few new songs down ....they said that axe is worth fixing it up .our lead player said it looks like 70;s modle ...said they are like mex strad ,,,even the mable neck look good ....any how the tuners are good on it ,,thing is heavy as well ....so goes to our guy this week to get hooked up .might have it ready for this gig we are doing friday at our saint patty thingy ...should be a blast ..... plus this guy we deal with now,,,one of our plyers is in tight with there people .so might get it done for nothing at all ...either way ,,,tell ya more when i play it after it is worked over ,the right way by a pro .... ......lp57
