| | This will likely come down between the Dunlop Crybaby and the Vox, which are probably the two most legendary. Anyway, I'm wanting a manual wah pedal, and wanted to know others' thoughts on the various manual wahs out there. I've only tried the original Vox and the DigiTech EX-7 Expression Factory. The analog wah sounded far better than the digital in that comparison. Also, are there any which feature a toe switch, instead of a heel switch? Heel switches bug the crap out of me. Thanks!

| | Lots of options out there... you can also check into teh 'boutique' market for wahs other than those in the polls. (check into Musictoyz.com store for a lot of wah options most boutique ones shoudl be listed there also) Another option is the switchless wahs! I like my Morley -Bad Horsie. At first it took some getting used to being that it is switchless but it felt right home within minutes so I went with it and never looked back.

| | That Weeping Demon from Ibanez works with guitars, basses, and even Mandolins! Did you ever hear a mandolin through a wah pedal? ZANY!

| Dunlop Crybaby - original and best!
BTW, I see that Ernie Ball are launching a Wah pedal - not available yet, but being pre-promoted. Should be great mechanics if their volume pedals are anything to go by - smoother than a smooth thing to operate, and built to take the knocks - a great bit of engineering.

| | http://www.fulltone.com/CDW.asp This is the best Wah pedal out of the box I've ever used. I should mention that I think it also depends on what type of sound you are looking for. This pedal nails the Hendrix?Clapton vibe to a tee. That being said.... I have 3 Wahs. A Vintage Thomas Organ Company Wah from the 60's..... this Wah has been heavily modified to correct some problems, but is now my main Wah. I have a Vox Clyde Deluxe. This is also a very good sounding Wah. My 3rd Wah is a Stock 847 that has been modified with true bypass, a Fulltone inductor and an upgraded pot. So bottom line is the Fulltone Clyde or Clyde Deluxe would be the best "vintage" sounding Wah out there IMHO. If you are looking for a more modern sounding wah the Bad Horsey is pretty good!
Its all about the tone. |

| I have an original Dunlop Cry Baby, but the one I go to all the time and have on my board is a Vox Clyde McCoy 848 reissue with true bypass. If you like to set you pedal so you can get the phasey honkin' tones this one will nail it. The pedal stays where you stop as well and doesn't tend to creep out of he "sweet spot".
