Hey there fellow axe slingers.. quick question here..

I've been using the "EXL110 - Regular Light" (which are simply great strings) for several years, but i've been curious about the thicker gauge sets of
"EXL115 - Blues/Jazz Rock"..

Is there a huge difference switching from the EXL110's to the EXL115's? Anyone with experience?

I bend a lot and play mostly, blues, funk/soul, and rock ... my only concern is the truss rod? Would be it be 'necessary' to adjust it? Or leave it the way it is currently?

A few years ago (7-8 or so) I went to a thicker gauge without adjusting it, and it played fairly alright- however when i went back to the regular gauge I noticed my intonation was off and I had to make some re-adjustments with the saddles and re-work everything back to "tonal-order"..

\Thanks in advance

You shouldn't have to adjust the truss rod, you might have to play with intonation slightly tho.

If you haven't had the guitar checkled up in a looooooong time well it might a good thing to bring it in for a check up with the strings you want on them and the guy will do the regular spot checks and put the new strings on. My acoustics all go through a routine of a full check-up every 2-3yrs. Electrics are a bit easier to take care of so I do that myself but still bring it to a luthier once in a while.

Yeah, I don't think i've ever taken it into for a checkup, I usually do everything on my own.. but I'm not very comfortable with the truss rod adjustment..

I read a few gauge threads here before about going from .010-.046 to .011 - .049 would require a truss rod adjustment, guess i was wrong However, it really wouldn't hurt to get a full check up, since it could use one

thanks again

If you want the action perfect then give the truss 1/8th of a turn clockwise and you will be able to achieve the desired action you want, plus you will be able to get the correct intonation easily without messing with the saddles too much or positioning them extremely to the rear. {E String Mainly} .  1/8th of a turn on the truss should do the trick.
