| I bought An Adamas Mellisa E. II 12 strings. The guitar was a good opportunity from a Big ShowRoom made in New York as it was part of the OVATION stand. The strigns it has sound Magic and I want to have them as the standar for this now my guitar. It came with a label hanged from D'Addario that says "This instrument was strung by D'Addario" and then shows the EXP logo makes me beleive this 12 strings are EXP kind (...) But trying to buy them from internet I can't find them.
Please. Help me find this EXP for 12 strings. Or if there is no, please Help me guess which Addario I have in my Adamas, ... I found they are thicker than the normal I used from yours and other brands "Light" kind. Maybe these are "Medium" kind or there is other thikness.
I am from Caracas, Venezuela. This is why I count on you. The few shops here are not aloud to help me in this very point. 12 Strings is always a rare issue.
Thanks Anybody

| | I have been using D'Addario EXP36 12 strings for a couple of years. These are light guage strings with the high E string being .010 and the bass E string .047 The bar code for these strings is [19954 94280] if it helps. You should be able to do a google search and find them. |

Thank You by the info. It helps me to find there are 2 models EXP for 12 strings
Both seems of the same thickness (ø) and the difference is of the tension
• EXP36 LIGHT ... is lower tension
• EXP38 LIGHT ... is higger tension
It seems both are the same in diameter. The difference is in the tension.
But the are thicker at the touch (and at first look) than the strings
I have as my standar but for the Ovation Legend 12 strings.
These are GHS phosphor bronze Light.
When I compare the thikness table from the info GHS when it comes to the
strings thicker they change from milimeters to a rare thing. Like This:
FIFTH A ... B40/016
SIXTH E ... B48/B30
By the way if a Compare the FIFTH thickness between GHS & EXP
EXP38 or EXP36 .... 0018
GHS ...................... 016
It shows me in fact that even the thinnest of the FIFTH it is thicker in EXP than GHS wich is the confirmatio of my toching experience. Makes me feel in fact my Adamas has the D'Addario EXP as the label hanged says. But if I am getting closed. Still I am lost in to find wether it is EXP36 or EXP38
I sent a info request to Adamas to find if when the STRUNG a Mellisa 12 Strings, EXP have a factory decission between the EXP36 or EXP38
Thanks You and the other friend for your help. If this second lines from me invites you to make another comment please go ahead

| | I'm glad that the information has been helpful for you! Here's another difference in the two string sets: EXP36 - These are 80/20 Bronze strings. D'Addario 80/20 Bronze (also referred to as brass) acoustic guitar strings provide a brighter tone. 80/20 Bronze strings have great acoustic clarity coupled with extra-bright, loud tone. EXP38 - These are Phosphor Bronze strings. D'Addario Phosphor Bronze acoustic guitar strings are legendary for their full, rich, acoustic tone. Phosphor bronze provides a warm and bright tone.

Thank You for even you final recomendation. I'm now looking where I can buy this from internet. Maybe the best place is the same D'Addario but there are some very kind especialized in Strings that I like to give the first chance. But they don't look in their brochure.
My final decission is buying 3 of each. Since it is impossible to me from distance to know wich are the ones from factory in my Adamas. Any way I am sure one is, and the other will be a nice suprise. At this level there is no a bad choice.
Thanks Again if you come back
