Does anyone know of any retailers, online or other, who sell bulk packs of the exp model strings. I know of one place but they only carry the 80/20.

Does d'addario sell directly?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

D'Addario does sell directly through their website, but you'll get a better deal through a retailer.  D'Addario would rather have us support the retailers who carry their products, which is cool.

My favorite D'Addario retailer for buying my strings in bulk has been through Midi-Classics.  They've got the best prices anywhere, and can order in any D'Addario product that you want and ship it to you.

I highly recommend them!

Try the D'Addario site themselves for they now sell direct.

Also try, www.juststrings.com .

Buying D'addario bulk packs is always a risky business. 4 weeks ago or so I bought a 10 pack at Guitar Center here in SF and every single pack was missing the 30 string. 2 weeks ago I got in touch with d'addario and they sent me the following:

"Thank you for alerting us to your recent experience with one of our products. Such feedback helps us maintain our position as the Player's Choice for musical accessories.

Your replacement order is being processed, and should ship within 2 business days.

We appreciate your support of D'Addario & Company, home of industry-leading musical instrument accessories such as D'Addario Fretted & Bowed Strings, Rico Reeds, Evans Drumheads, HQ Percussion, and Planet Waves."

Well, no strings yet. I am playing with a spare/old 30. And then when I ask about the strings I get this:

"Unfortunately, I cannot give you an exact date of shipping. All orders
are in date order, and will go out based on the date the order hit our
system. I can understand your frustration, but given the circumstances,
this is the situation we find ourselves in. As I said, we should be back
to normal in a week. Thank you.

WTF? This is possibly the worst customer service experience I have ever had. D'addario is cruising towards losing at least one customer. If I didn't know that this message would get deleted if I did, I might consider advising a boycott.

Dulcimerist: I'm sure that's a great site, but it's hard to navigate, I don't know what the heck is going there, lol. I suppose calling them is best.

Krome, sorry about your luck, and that does sound like a bad shake, but a boycott on a D'Addario forum, I don't think is gonna happen. We're all for the most part very loyal to D'Addario, and for the most part have good experiences. But, there are Mods here that I'm sure might be willing to help you out before you begin making picket signs.

Yeah - Their site is a mess.  I generally just phone or email the retailer, as they don't list all of the D'Addario and Planet Waves products on their site.  They can do bulk orders and special orders of those products quite quickly, though; and their price on D'Addario and Planet Waves products are the absolute best deal around.
