I recently had dental crowns installed on all my front teeth.  Since then I'm aware of the considerable pressure playing exerts on the two top teeth that rest against my mouthpiece.

It's not painful - but I have a concern about loosening the crowns.  Has anyone had experience along this line or heard of someone dealing with it?  Or a dentist's opinion?  My dentist doesn't play the sax & I"m not sure how helpful he would be.  I'm wondering if adding a rubber cushion to the top of the mouthpiece would help without compromising my playing.

Any thoughts????

thanks!~

I now there are dendits (in holland) the make soft plastic covers for underteeth. I think its also possible for front teeth. My upper front teeth are implantates and they are verry strong.
