| I'm currently playing in a band that uses drop A tuning. I use a 4 string Fender American Jazz for this. I had to file out the nut a little bit 'cause of the gauges I use.
I know 1.45 is the highest gauge D'addario makes for bass strings so I will stick with that for my low A, but as far as the other strings go what gauge do you suggest I use for each string? The tuning i'm in goes from A,E,A,D Respectively. Any info on how I can tell what gauge string would work best with whatever tuning i'm in would help. It's a 34" scale length. Thanks. |

| Going to that thick of strings might require some bridge adjustments or something, wouldn't it? Could this possibly bend the neck a bit as well? You might want to consult a local guitar shop to see if the pro there has some advice as well.
