I see that Ernie Ball are changing their packaging after 45 years... changing to foil packs...

Ernie Ball's modernized packaging methods ensure that your new string sets sound factory-fresh from the moment you open the package - and will retain their just-opened tone and appeal for even longer than before.

Is this similar to the D'Addario packs? I wonder whether they'll be color-coding ball ends too

I found out that they're not using color-coded ball ends; the strings will still be in individual sleeves, just in an overall outer foil packet... with a hologram to stop forgeries!

Well, good for them. I'm not a treehugger by any means, but I think it's cool that D'Addario adopted enviro-friendly packaging several years back.

If that's Ernie Ball's motivation too, good on them!
