thanx a lot guys!
i definitely don't want to do it myself, i'd probably manage but i don't want to ruin my cymbal even further.
i didn't realise that downsizing a cymbal will make it sound gongy so thanx for that as well.
the crack is only about 0,5cm big so it's quite small - so that's a good thing i suppose.
i'm phoning the dude who repairs the cymbals to see exactly what he does - maybe he can help me. otherwise just my local music shop...
just one more question... did i just get a bad cymbal or what?

i phoned my local music shop who have been great like always!
one of the guys who works there(he's quite high up - i think manager of the drum department) repairs cracked cymbals in the exact fashion you people have been explaining it. and he's doing it really cheaply as well - for like $7,70. thanx a lot for all the replies again.

Most warrenties are none transferable. And, yeah, paiste's seem to crack more often, which is frustrating, because they're hella good sounding cymbals.

i forgot to mention that the guy in the shop had a look at the cymbal and said what probably happened was that the previous guy was probably playing and the wing nut came lose and the cymbal hit the arm of the boom stand and i hit it on the same exact spot. because there was a small dent going from the bottom up. another thing to check next time i buy a cymbal...

Bummer.   I guess that solves the mystery though. I've been playing Paiste Innovations for about 5 years now and never once seen a crack. In contrast to what Dan has said I've always found Paistes are hardier than Zildjians.

BTW if that's you in your avatar, I think you might be a vampire. LIKE OMG!!!111!1! WTF
