Whenever I see a vintage kit with a buy-it-now WAY over market value, my first reaction is that the seller is one of those typical idiots who thinks his kit is worth much more than the actual market value.  But recently, because of the higher ebay fees, some guys are posting their stuff over market with only the buy-it-now in hopes that someone will email them, and ask if they will take less for the price.  The buyer sends the money directly to the seller's paypal account, and the seller simply ends the listing.  By doing this, the seller avoids paying the final fee, which is substantial to ebay, and only gets charged a minimal listing fee.

When I get a chance, I will post my current vintage Ludwig kit.  I just switched from a 60's Super classic Hollywood (22,12,13,16) in Black Diamond Pearl, to a smaller vintage Ludwig kit in Gold Sparkle.  It is drums that have been thrown together.  The bass is a 14x20 70's, 8x12 high tom is late 60's, the 12x15 floor tom is a 60's converted marching drum, and the 16x16 floor tom is from the 70's.  I also have a 14x22 50's Kent maple bass drum in gold sparkle, and an Apollo 6-lug snare to the left that is cranked as tight as I can without breaking my key.  I plan on selling the 16x16 soon, because if I want to play with two floor toms, I can always just play my Ayottes.  It is currently set up with the steel snare that I mentioned in a different thread, and some of my sort of back up cymbals.  The cymbals, snare, and throne that I normally gig with is usuallly left in the case.

Here are a few pics.  I was too lazy to move the piano, so there is no full frontal drums.

that is one hell of a rad colour. Gotta say, the vintage wraps are alot better looking than the modern ones.

The one in my avatar is the way I set up my Ayottes for most jazz gigs.  Here is the small kit, without the special "tama" logo and with a few cymbals, and a pic of the full kit from an outdoor show.

8x10, 9x12, 12x14, 14x16, 18x22  Funny, it has been at least a year since I have set up the whole kit.  I usually just play a four-piece set up.  I don't mind setting up the full kit when a sound company strings up the mics, but for bar gigs, I'm too much of a lazy-azz to set all that crap up.
