im having a problem with my tama ic power glide dbl pedal...after a song with fast double bass beats the main beater ends up pointing straight up at me at rest, thus making it difficult to continue without adjusting it between songs b/c this makes the tension on the spring even tighter and it takes more pressure to hit a beat. theres nothing between the beater cam and beater cam hub...just metal on metal (if you own an ic you know what part i'm talking about). any other ic owners have this problem? i was thinking i could get a thin piece of rubber (like some type of weather stripping) to put between the cam and cam hub to create a 'connection' between the two pieces of metal similiar to tama's Hold Tight rubber washers on their higher end kits (i'm no scientist so dont know if this would work), or i was just thinking of taking it back and getting a pearl eliminator ....anyone help with this problem??

i'm also confused...
but i think what you're saying is that the beater angle is shifting and you want to stop that? in that case, fasten the screw which keeps the beater angle fast.
AND PLEASE!! FOR THE SAKE OF THIS FORUM... DON'T BUY PEARL (OR RATHER GEARL AS WE CALL IT)!!! but it's your choice...

heh...gearl...heh...anyway, i picked up the pedal today from the gig and took it apart to try and find the problem...get this...not one, but BOTH of the beater cams had snapped in half! no freakin wonder they were movin (it was both beaters moving..to my surprise). took it back to the store and they replaced the whole pedal for me...it's all good now...at least for the moment...i thought tama equipment was built better than that...only had the pedal for 3 months...sheesh

that's surprising! well at least the problem is sorted but iron cobras are usually known for their durability...

i do have larger than normal leg muscles due to my sports background (baseball, softball, bowling, golf...and yes i walk when i play golf), and i wear skate shoes when playing which have a heavier than normal sole, but i don't, or at least dont think i do, hit any harder than anyone else with my feet since the IC is so smooth and easy to play. maybe i do. who knows. who cares. they replaced the pedal so it's all good, but the guy did say he's NEVER seen an IC snap like that, especially both of the cams. i'm chalking it up to a bum pedal, which would be my luck
