| My friend picked up a Latin Percussion LP322 Prestige Cowbell, and the former owner of it was a moron and liked to shoot paintballs at it. Anyway, this cowbell has some paintball stains and oxidation on it, but no dents. It would be cool to clean it up and polish it so that it looks nicer. Would Brasso metal polish be good for a cowbell? This model cowbell is unpainted, and this is what it looked like new: http://www.samash.com/catalog/showitem.asp?ItemID=43063To avoid future oxidation to the cowbell, would car wax be effective at all or would smacking the cowbell often with a drumstick render the wax useless? Thanks!

| ja... i'd say the same thing. obviously don't overdo it with the brasso but i suppose it'll be the only proper way to get rid of the paint.

| | there is no time to clean man .........WE NEED MORE COWBELL!!!!! But seriously I would just clean it up with paint thinner the best you can, dont worry about painting it. As someone who has had one on there kit, I will tell you the prestine finish will not last long anyway. Optics arent that important when it comes to cowbells, just its sound!! Hope that helps

| the only thing is, when you finally cleaned the cow bell, you'll actually have to play it!

| The Brasso is working wonders! I should've taken a "before" photo, as it looked brown with paintball and black Sharpie marker covering most of it. It has shined up to a mirror finish!

| LMAO - Yeah, you've got a good point! If I shine it up so much that it glows, perhaps someone would notice...

| If it really looks that great, you gotta find a suitable place during a gig to grab it and a stick and walk around the stage waving it around and whacking it like Gene Frenkle. Crowds generally dig that sort of thing so long as you only do it once a night and at a different point of the show each time. Just tell your bandmates you need space for a cowbell solo - they'll understand.
