| Vkid, I would love to help you but, your picture is not showing up. Pics wont post from your hard drive. They need to be from a web site. For example: http://www.gibson.com/email/images/120804_Crow.jpg You can insert it using the insert box on the menu so it it will show up without having to click on it. See:

| I've seen Harmony guitars that were exactly like that one, even the headstock and the tail piece. I think Harmony had a relationship with either Kay or Silvertone, but I can't rememebr. maybe one of you guitar guys knows that history better than me. |

| $81 is a great price for that slab-o-plywood. looks like a Kay, maybe a Harmony. Silvertones were made by several manufacturers.
those guitars make nice Bloozmobiles, especially if you play slide. they have a very quick decay, and the action is usually high.

| Do you really think this would work for a slide? I've been searching the internet and after what i've read im not to sure if this thing would be a good slide, I dunno I might be wrong.

| Gotta agree with Superfly on this one. Looks like it would be perfect for slide playing. Polish her up, put ona new set of strings and you are good to go.

| | Ya gotta figure a guitar like that is a better slide guitar than fretted guitar because the intonation is probably not very good. |

| Yes, You are right in saying it is either a Kay or a Harmony. More than likley a Harmony. And yes it would make a good slide guitar. The only problem with playing slide on it is access to the higher register. To make it even better you could get a PUP mounted on the pickguard and then you will have a pretty decent Jazz box. A Kent Armstrong single coil mounted on the guard. Pretty good way to go. As far as intonation goes a good place to start is when setting the bridge position set the saddle points at the center High point on the "F" hole. Thats what those points are for is for an apprixomate position of the bridge. This point will vary depending on string guage. Good Luck with it its a nice guitar!
Its all about the tone. |
