I am considering purchasing a new Ibanez Sr. 905 bass.

It has a neck-through body, Bartolini pre-amp and pickups, maple body, walnut and maple neck, rosewood fret board, and can be strung through the body or bridge which is an accucast 25.

It's a five string made in korea. Iv'e seen some reviews on this bass but iI am still not convinced. Does anyone have any feedback they could give me on this instrument or knows anyone who has one?

Would greatly appreciate it.

I can't speak about that model directly but I find that Ibanez makes great instruments pretty much all around.  I don't think you would be wasting your money on one.  I've played some of the cheapest Ibanez basses and the quality for price is awesome.  Almost always very playable.  With the features you mentioned I say buy it.

Personally I've been jonesing for an Ibanez hollowbody.

Thanks Guys. Iv'e had a chance to try the bolt-on equivelent the SR 505. The neck and string spacing is too narrow for me.

I guess Ill stick with Fender.  { Giving away my age here}

The Fender Jazz 5 felt at home. Iv'e played a Fender Jazz 4 for 8yrs now, I guess that has something to do with it.  The new jazz 5 {Mexican} has the ceramic american noiseless pups in it an improved bridge, and string trees and is available in vintage white.

Also has active electronics { american} with three band EQ.
