What's the correct setting in the control panel for EST?

Everytime I set the damn thing for EST it's 5 hours too early .

It took me about 6 different zones until I guessed right.

Yeah, it's definitely screwed. My time zone is GMT+10 but I had to set it to GMT-8 to make it work correctly.

uhhhh I set my time to GMT -1 (which is wrong, I live in illinois) last night, and it worked perfect. I went to bed, got up this morning and the time was wrong. I set it to GMT -2, then it was off again. Put it back to GMT-1 and it worked correctly again. WTF!?!?!? Oh well..
