I just watched a Weather Report concert yesterday from 1978 in Germany. Jaco is just awesome! It is one thing to hear his playing but it's another alltogether to watch him play. Of all the members in the band he looked the least stressed and seemed to master his instrument with ease as if he came out of his mothers womb with a bass in his hands!

I must say however that it was Peter Erskine, the drummer who suprised me. He did a drum solo that was equal if not superior to those of John Bonham. The speed and dexterity he displayed was incredible. Ok. I admit that nobody, NOBODY, hit the drums as hard as Bonham, but Erskine is definitly no lightweight.  Now I know why this group was dubbed THE FEARSOM FOURSOM!

The Hammer.

VENI, VIDI, VICI.

Underestimate No One.
