Chuck,

While I haven't met anyone in person yet from this forum, I have spoken to a quite a few of you, on the phone. I agree this forum is great, we are afforded the luxury of self moderation, and I can't remember more than 2 "flame wars" in the almost 4 years I have been here. Unlike other forums which I still frequent from time to time, (why for the life of me I will never understand).

The only thing about this forum I regret is the lack of consistent posting, but that is due to the fact that we all have lives outside of this forum.

With all that being said this is by far one of the best forums on the Internet, and I will take the respect we show for one another over consistent posting any day of the week.

Well, we have been trying.

Spoke to Bill on the phone many times. Almost got together.

Playing phone tag with Bludave, trying to meet. Schedule conflicts.

Yep, I know what you mean, Relli.  Machine Head off the old forum is closest to me at 200 miles away - guess he didn't make the switch.  Other than that, my location's a little too far-flung to meet most of you.  I do, however, feel like I know a little about what some of you are all about.

Hey - people do travel.  Maybe someday...

Hey SG,

Maybe my wife and I will venture up your way this Summer. How far from Bar Harbor, ME are you?  It's about 5 1/2 hours to BH from my home on Plum Island.

Well, Bill, the short answer is about 12 hrs - by ferry.  Oh, there's also that catamaran thing that does it in 3.  To drive around, I have no idea how long it would take.

NS is a nice place to visit in summer, lots to see and do.  If you're ever planning to head up this way, let me know - we can go hunting for lobster & beer!
