RATS, THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN ANSWER TO BUBBA'S THREAD, BUT IT'S HERE, ANYWAY, MY FINGER MUST HAVE SLIPPED!

That's about it, I guess, for if the focus of the problem might seem to be the Iraq invasion by America that is just the most contemporary war being fought right now, the real problem lies a bit deeper, with the progressive control of a government such as the American by civilians whose sole interest is on making a nice profit out of the related goods necessary for a war effort.

This is, of course, the most desperately wrong attempt on having a right excuse (not reason) for going to war ever since WW II, when those industry moguls started acquiring the taste, but the fact remains that ever since then your country is being periodically led into one war after another and what actually amazes me is that the true motivations behind those adventures has not yet been thoroughly uncovered - and I may well guess it will never be after no criminal connections have been yet made about the Cheney-Halliburton / Bush-Arabic connection show so clearly that there's much more to this invasion than a will to fight terrorism, after all Saddam was not terrorist when the US armed and sponsored him against Iran and when he killed millions of his own countrie's citizens even after the Gulf War.

It's all about them huge bucks, them Tomahawks and stuff, no one there cares for a single human life, be it American, Korean, Vietnamese, Afghan or Iraq, and if those lives may be counted as "casualties" that's all the better, they have then died under a simile of reason.

KEEP ON TRUCKIN'!

Hey, if walmart hadn't destroyed any chance of being succesful on the small scale in the US, and the united states of europe wasn't overrepresented in the UN, and michael moore was never born, none of this would ever have had to happen. Saddam's never killed anybody, he didn't rise to power by killing his opposition, and he's never even had his goons kill people (or paid people to kill people). He's even cleaner than kofi's son.

If indochina never would have been "written off" by the US in the late 40s and early 50s, perhaps china would never have fallen to communism, and the korea and vietnam war/conflicts possibly wouldn't have happened. And if the cia would have kept their noses out of things, kruschev wouldn't have been forced to build a wall. If we hadn't wasted all our money on that "stuff," perhaps the government could have instead subsidized the NHL so we wouldn't have a strike going on right now.

BTW, how could somebody in the oil business not have ties to the saudis? I've got a relationship to the guy at the drum pad that sells me my heads, and we aren't a couple. And if cheney had never been a part of halliburton (or halliburton never had recieved the job of cooking and rebuilding), do you really think this iraq thing would never have happened? It could have started back in 1997.

But, excuses are things you use when you need to convince the unwilling you are right. For the reasons, pull out your history book. See how the middle east was involved with the cold war. You already mentioned wwII, which of course is very much related to WWI. So, what caused WWI? Keep going back, it is linked and intertwined, till you find a point at which the world was at peace, both in action and in spirit. Bush has a long ways to go to catch up with hirohito, stalin, hitler, and even saddam.

These two sites are about as opposite a point of view as you can get. So, what is more important as an American? American interests or American interests? If you want to have some fun, register on DU and say something not-mean (not neccesarily positive of course) about bush, or denounce michael moore. (Saddam is a definite and absolute bad guy, but) it is entertaining to watch the left and the right bash it out. If you don't agree, call them bu****lers and repubs, or trip on third bass when playing right field and blame it on the kool-aid. Oh yeah!!

No war for ivory coast.
