| My teenage sax instructor tells me my Rico Royals should be stored upside down in the plastic reed holders, i.e. the opposite of the way they are delivered. This doesn't seem right to me but you can't argue with a teenager. Can anyone confirm? Thx |

| Reeds should be only be interted into the plastic reed holders by the tip of the reed first. When properly inserted, the heel of the reed will be lined up with the thumb cut-away (see the photo attached). Thanks, Rico Administrator

| Thanks for the photo. I didn't mention that I'm talking about soprano. Is that a tenor reed in the photo? Do you use the same holder for tenor and soprano? Because the holder seems a little big. I have to push the reed in as far as I can and then those plastic ribs inside only touch the reed at one spot, about 3/4 of the way up the vamp. Tnx |

| The reed holder for Tenor sax is bigger than Soprano sax. They are not inter-changeable. The Tenor sax reed holder is longer and wider than the one for Soprano and will not work with a Soprano reed. Next time you buy a box of Soprano reeds you can use some of the plastic reed holders that come with the box for the older reeds you are still playing. -Rico Administrator |

| I'm glad you asked this question, becuase that person is leading you astray. Definatly good to ask to get the correct information, and since your information is from Rico themselves, I think that's the best place to get it.
