| The first thing that comes to mind is... ... DON'T LET PEOPLE WITH WET HANDS PLAY YOUR GUITAR!!! It only takes a minute and wipe down your strings after playing - even underneath. It will prolong the useful life of your strings. While you're doing that, you can also wipe down anywhere on the guitar that needs it (mostly on the back of the neck and where the right forearm rests on the body) SG

| I don't know exactly what you mean by wet hands. Do you mean a person with sweaty hands or a person who washed his hands and didn't dry them ? To answer you question though wipe them down with alcohol. Preferably denatured or Isoprophyl.

| Yeah, keep yr axe away from those sweaty-handed pervs. That said, the finger-ease spray lube extends string life/deters corrosion -- to a point. I found using that, I didn't get as much string-ruining crud building up. That said, if you bend a lot, or have heavy strings, you might want to go easy on the lube, otherwise you'll find your strings slipping out mid-bend.

| Dix, If you're one of those sweaty handed pervs, I guess resist the temptation to use the finger-lube spray elsewhere.

| I only let a select few other people ever play my guitars. Not even my 12 year old son, to his dismay. I have a couple of 3M microfibre cleaning towels I wipe my strings down with whenever I'm done playing. Maybe once a week I spray some Tone Fingerease on the strings and wipe them down. Really seems to keep the crud down and keeps the strings ringing out incredably long.

| How much are those 3M cloths worth? My wife uses the same product at her store to clean glass surfaces, but the brand she uses is "Simons", and they are available at the local dollar store. They're great for removing end-of-gig crud off a gloss black guitar, and did I mention they're only a dollar??? SG

| I probably paid $2.99 for each a few years ago, but they are the type of thing you might expect to see in a Dollar store. They do a great job picking up hand oils and crud off guitar surfaces and strings. They clean up pretty well in the washer, too. I have one in each of my guitar cases, and a spare in my gig bag.
