Since messing around with a hand-me-down sax I have been using Rico 2.5 strength.  They seem to be working OK (I have a long way to go!), but I was wondering what using a heavier strength would do to my sound/playability, or using a lighter strength for that matter.  Thanks for your suggestions.

Yeti-

There is no right strength. Typically a harder strength will help you get better sound projection and tone quality but it is very dependant on your mouthpiece. Talk to your teacher about what strength would work best with your set up...every mouthpiece and player is different.

Good luck,

Rico Administrator

PS. Does the fur get in the way of the reed Mr. Yeti?
