Kurt Ballou

Kurt Ballou is a Grammy Award-winning producer, engineer, mixer, and guitarist best known as a founding member of the legendary hardcore band Converge. Equal parts precision engineer and musical demolition expert, Ballou has become one of the defining forces behind modern heavy music through both his playing and his production and engineering work over at GodCity Studio, which he established in 1998.

Over the last twenty years, Kurt has toured the world with Converge and produced landmark records for artists like High On Fire, Nails, Code Orange, Chelsea Wolfe, Fleshwater, Beastmilk, and Pygmy Lush. His raw, razor-sharp, unmistakable production style has helped redefine the sound of contemporary hardcore, metal, and experimental heavy music.
