Helicore Octave violin strings are designed to be played one octave below traditional violin tuning, which allows for new tonal and stylistic possibilities. These strings utilize the same core technologies as the Helicore violin strings. This string set is considerably thicker than traditional violin strings, and as a result, they require extra care to ensure proper installation.

Ideal For: Students, Intermediate Players, Professionals

When I recognized that I wasn't playing my 2nd violin enough I decided to convert it to an octave violin. I was able to do this without making any alterations in the instrument and I'm now loving the option of playing an octave lower.
It's fantastic that I was able to get strings for this from D'Addario - you are always there for what I need!!

Responsive To The Core

Helicore strings are crafted with a multi-stranded steel core, resulting in optimal playability while producing a clear, warm tone. The smaller string diameter provides quick bow response. Premium quality materials combined with skilled workmanship produce strings known for excellent pitch stability and longevity.
