How can I extend the life of my strings?

There are many factors that can affect the lifespan of your strings. Here are some tips to help extend the life of your strings:

1. Wipe down your strings after each use.

2. Try D'Addario XT or XS strings! Our two X Series options each use a distinct method to extend lifespan, while preserving the tone of uncoated strings.

3. Try these maintenance and care products to prolong string life and performance.

Good, but not indestructible

While these strings do sound good, are consistent, and seem to retain tuning fairly well, they are far from the indestructible strings that they are advertised to be. I have managed to break a D string and an A string over the past few shows on sets that were nowhere near the end of their life expectancy. I have replaced my bridge saddles with Graphtech saddles, so we’ll see how things go in the future.

NYXL 13-56 Wound Third

"When the NYXL range came out, it was a real game-changer. I always used to break strings, but NYXL would always withstand when I used to play my first shows in a rock band as a kid. I put the strings through their paces playing lead guitar, but they have always survived."
– Sam Fender
