About Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal
Most guitarists spend their careers copying their heroes to get a grip on the instrument. But Brooklyn-born Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal spent his up-and-coming years inventing his own approach. Known for his pioneering work with fretless guitar and his iconic "thimble technique," Thal has built one of the most unconventional careers in modern rock, performing with everyone from Asia to Sons of Apollo, Art of Anarchy, and the supergroup Whom Gods Destroy. Perhaps most impressively, he backed Axl Rose as a member of Guns N’ Roses during the Chinese Democracy era, and ultimately won the respect of skeptical crowds who were determined to reject anyone on that stage not wearing a top hat. Whether he’s performing, composing, producing, or educating, Bumblefoot approaches everything with the same creativity and curiosity that turned him into one of the most respected and in-demand guitarists in contemporary rock.
