Nicole McCabe stays rooted in jazz, but not confined by it.
Nicole is a genre-defining saxophonist and composer bringing the expressive power of modern jazz into dialogue with electronic, indie, and experimental music with a reed a flexible as her sound.
Nicole’s Reed:
Select Jazz Alto Saxophone 3M
When looking for a reed, Nicole needs flexibility for consistent sound through her horn’s whole register.
“I really like these reeds because they feel very versatile. I can do a gig that requires me to do a lot of bends and vibrato because of the flexibility the reed gives me and then I'm also able to play in situations that are maybe more maybe ambient or less straight ahead jazz because I can also get this really nice woody sound from it.”
