Great idea and worth a try but in the end it would not power my Electro Harmonix Q Tron Plus from my Truetone power supply.

A great little asset. I tested it on the 12 and 18 settings and it works great. The switch is a bit hard to access because it is so recessed in but a jewelry screwdriver works great.
