About Aaron Shaw

Los Angeles-based saxophonist Aaron Shaw has developed a style that combines elements of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and contemporary music. It’s a combination that’s earned him the attention of collaborators like Anderson .Paak, Herbie Hancock, Steve Lacy, Mary J. Blige, Tyler, the Creator, Shawn Mendes, and Dave Chappelle. Raised in Ladera Heights, Shaw studied at the Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center and the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, before continuing his career under the mentorship of Kamasi Washington. Today, he remains a fixture in Los Angeles' thriving jazz community while bringing his distinctive sound to stages and studios everywhere.
