About David Binney

Saxophonist, composer, and producer David Binney has released more than 30 albums as a leader or co-leader, and has appeared on more than 400 recordings. He’s worked with artists including Knower, Chrissie Hynde, Maria Schneider, Norah Jones, Chris Potter, Wayne Krantz, Gil Evans, and Aretha Franklin, while also producing seven releases by Donny McCaslin and helping form the McCaslin group that would later record David Bowie's Blackstar. A three-time winner in the Alto Saxophone category of the DownBeat Critics Poll, Binney has also explored electronic and ambient music, founded Mythology Records, and taught at institutions around the world. Now based in Los Angeles, he continues to perform, compose, record, produce, mix, and master music across genres.
