About John De La Paz

Soloist, chamber musician, and recording clarinetist John De La Paz has performed throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe, and Japan, working with ensembles including the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Las Vegas Philharmonic, New Mexico Philharmonic, El Paso Symphony Orchestra, and Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez. He’s a committed advocate for contemporary music, and has participated in commissions, premieres, and collaborations with composers including David Maslanka, Eric Whitacre, Donald Grantham, and Paul Chihara. He’s the Assistant Professor of Music at Doña Ana Community College at New Mexico State University.
