Gianluca Renzi

Gianluca Renzi is a New York City–based jazz bassist, arranger, composer and educator. Holding Master’s degrees in Classical Double Bass Performance and Jazz Composition & Arranging from the Italian Conservatory of Music, he has built an international career performing with many of the leading artists in jazz across the United States, Europe, Asia, and South America. His appearances include major festivals and venues such as Umbria Jazz, Marciac Jazz Festival, Rome Jazz Festival, Shanghai Jazz Festival, Richmond Jazz Festival, Jarasum Jazz Festival, SFJAZZ San Francisco, Blue Note (Tokyo, Beijin, Milano NYC), Lincoln Center, Birdland, and many more. In addition to an active touring and recording career, Gianluca is a dedicated educator, having taught at Saint Louis College of Music in Rome and presented masterclasses internationally. Through his own online Jazz Bass Academy, he shares his experience with a global community of bass players through online lessons, educational content, and personalized coaching.
