I couldn't play without there being a selection of D'Addario Chromes singles along with their plain steel XSs. I'm a fingerstyle jazz player and prefer as equal tension as possible across all strings. Most OTC sets have more traditional tensions where the third through fifth strings are significantly higher than the rest.

I like the ability to build custom string sets from your standard offerings. I am using "non-standard" sets on most of my guitars to achieve the playability and tone I prefer.

These flat-wound strings solved the problem I had from the unwanted squeeking of regular wound strings during chord changes. With these flat-wound strings installed on my Ovation 12-string acoustic guitar, I have don't have annoying string noise anymore when I play. I am very thankful for that. And the strings sound great, both live and recorded.
