About Kenji Matsumoto

Kenji Matsumoto studied with Michel Arrignon at the Conservatoire de Paris and graduated with the Leon Leblanc Special Award. An accomplished performer, Matsumoto won the Japan Woodwind Competition, Japan Clarinet Competition and Toulon International Music Competition. Matsumoto joined the NHK Symphony Orchestra in 2002 and became the Principal Clarinetist in 2011, and he currently serves as a professor at Tokyo College of Music and Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
